At this meeting, we will recognize members who have achieved important milestones and certifications, and we are honored to celebrate Kiran Masud, English Language Arts Teacher at Hillside Intermediate School in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District, as the County Teacher of the Year. With more than eighteen years in education, Kiran is a passionate and reflective educator who leads her students, the “Masudians,” with empathy, curiosity, and purpose. She is committed to creating safe spaces for diverse voices, encouraging students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and inspiring them to see the world as their classroom. In addition to advising the Roots and Shoots program, recognized by Dr. Jane Goodall, Kiran has served as a Fulbright Scholar, authored Savaal: The “i” in Racism, and engaged in interfaith and peace education initiatives. Currently a National Education Association Global Classrooms Fellow, she continues to reimagine education as adaptive, representative, and deeply human.
Please join us in celebrating Kiran’s accomplishments, along with the achievements of all our dedicated Somerset County members.
